My directing work focuses on building ambitious, ensemble-driven productions from the ground up. I’m drawn to projects that demand both creative vision and practical problem-solving, often working with large casts, complex technical elements, and significant logistical challenges to create work that is clear, cohesive, and theatrically bold.
In practice, this includes:
Directing full-scale productions from early concept through performance.
Shaping and adapting scripts to suit specific ensembles and performance contexts.
Developing immersive, promenade, or non-traditional staging approaches.
Leading large creative teams and collaborating closely with designers, technicians, assistant directors, and stage managers.
Balancing artistic ambition with structure, clarity, and audience experience.
Much of this work has taken place in well-equipped, large-scale theatre environments, including a fully resourced 600 seat venue. The processes, expectations, and standards I work to reflect those of professional rehearsal rooms. I’m keen to continue and expand this work at tertiary level and beyond, where there is greater scope for extended development, deeper collaboration, and increased artistic risk.
