My work in education focuses on designing, building, and sustaining theatre programs that challenge students while remaining practical, inclusive, and artistically rigorous. I’m particularly interested in long-term program development: creating clear pathways for students to grow as performers, technicians, and collaborators over multiple years.
In practice, this includes:
Designing and implementing multi-year theatre and technical theatre curricula.
Building programs from the ground up, or revitalising existing ones.
Aligning artistic goals with educational frameworks and school contexts.
Training student leaders, assistant directors, stage managers, and technical teams.
Creating structures that support both high artistic standards and student wellbeing.
Much of this work has been done in international school settings, where I’ve led curriculum development, departmental growth, and large-scale facilities improvements alongside teaching and directing. I’m drawn to educational environments that value depth, continuity, and creative ambition, and where theatre is treated as a serious discipline rather than an extracurricular afterthought.
